Why do we like this?

If you're a fan of The Knocks, you've probably been doing what I've been doing—patiently waiting for the release of their upcoming EP TESTIFY. The good news is the wait is almost over as it's set to drop next week on February 3.

In the lead up to next week's EP, The Knocks have released this track LIE featuring their pal and vocalist, Jerm. There's a distinct beachy feel to this one. The second half of this track is especially great, when the full sound and force of this track is finally released.

I scored some exclusive quotes for you from Ben and James from The Knocks and also from Jerm about the collaboration that went into this track. Here's what The Knocks had to say...

"When we wrote LIE in LA with Jerm it was just a vocal over that main guitar sample. No drums or additional production. His vocal is so powerful, it almost felt like it didn't need more. When we took the song on the road and worked on it, we decided we wanted to make it a dancehall rhythm as Jerm is Jamaican and we didn't have anything like that yet. It's also the first time we've done a song where the entire thing is a build and it doesn't really "drop" until the end which was really fun to do. " —The Knocks

And then from Jerm, sounds like he had a blast making this one too..

“Had a lot of fun working on LIE with The Knocks. Super chill laid back vibes. Then they took what we did and turned it into something I never expected.” —Jerm

The next couple of months will be a busy one for The Knocks. With their new EP out next week, they're also hitting the road around North America for a bunch of dates in the US and Canada. They're capping off their "Feel Good Feel Great" tour with a show in the hometown of New York, playing at the legendary Terminal 5.

Watch for the stellar support acts going on tour with them—namely Mark Johns, Bipolar Sunshine and Skylar Spence. It's going to be the show to see over the coming weeks and months. All the details, dates and tickets are available via their website here.
