Coming off a serious display at CMJ, Brooklyn-based indie psych rockers The Midnight Hollow make their Indie Shuffle debut.
Together they are Spencer and Andrew, who came together rather unceremoniously after Andrew started layering his drum beats over Spencer's original multi-instrumental material. The two decided to formalize their partnership and are currently working on a debut album called The People Inside.
Here we have their latest single release. The gradual intro in "Forward" gives rise to a simple and prophetic 2-worder chorus -- "straight forward." But this track is anything but simple or straightforward. It is perhaps a very cheeky play on itself because "Forward" is dominated instead by a range of big and complex rock-psych sounds.
