Why do we like this?

Chicago is having a pretty damn good year musically thanks in part to artists like Kanye, Vic Mensa, and Chance The Rapper. Beyond that there are a lot of other talented musicians deserving of recognition, including wildcards like The O'My's.

The band laughs in the face of genres, making emotionally impactful music that can be loosely outlined with labels like soul, funk, blues, and rock. The O'My's new release, Keeping The Faith, has me diving headfirst down the rabbit hole in an effort to get to know these fresh vibes better. From what I've heard (and read) so far, "Let It Rain" is just the tip of one chill-ass iceberg.

Hat tip to Life+Times on the premiere, which features an engaging interview with the band's co-founder Maceo Haymes.
