It's pretty obvious that we are huge fans of Los Angeles-based The Peach Kings. We've covered nearly every track that the blues rock duo has released so far - I was actually surprised we didn't have "Hold On," one of my favorites from their recent Mojo Thunder EP.
The enigmatic twosome graced us with their presence in San Francisco last night, playing to a packed crowd at the intimate Hotel Utah venue. Briefly chatting with them before the show, it was made known that they drove up from LA that day, and had to turn around and drive right back for an early interview in Orange County this morning. That's dedication!
Paige Wood and Steven “Dies” Trezevant are dating, and their chemistry is unreal on stage. From emotive guitar strums and suggestive dance moves to throaty vocals and sultry glances, the duo oozes sex, lust, and all things rock and roll.
Kicking the night off with "Like A Stone" (one of my personal favorites) off of their Handsome Moves EP, The Peach Kings played most of their hits and gave us a sneak peek into some new material as well. Highlights included "Fisherman," "Thieves and Kings," and "Mojo Thunder."
If you haven't fallen under The Peach Kings' smoky spell yet, I highly encourage that you listen to all of their tracks. Drink some whiskey, smoke a cigarette, bask in the late afternoon sun, and enjoy.
