Why do we like this?

Having just released new single "Tennis Court,"  New Zealand songstress Lorde has wasted little time offering up more musical delights, this time a cover of American rockers The Replacements "Swingin' Party."

While the original is a depressing guitar number with lyrics hinting at addiction, Lorde's take transforms "Swingin' Party" into a dreamingly wistful slow burner, made all the more earnest by Lorde's angelic voice.

Still only 16, Lorde is a talent for the future and one who's career I will be following closely over the course of the year.
