Why do we like this?
Midi Matilda covering the 1970's soul group The Temptations? It would be an absolute crime not to have a listen. Like most of you, the only song that really springs to mind when it comes to The Temptations is the all famous "My Girl." Well, San Fran's indie pop duo Midi Matilda have covered the less familiar but just as catchy "Just My Imagination."
I had never heard the original before, so naturally I had a listen to it before making any judgements towards this cover. After much deliberation, I decided to share this track because, like most songs I post, it makes me feel incredibly happy. As much as it loses its Motown groove, it gains some pretty vibrant synth work and charming vocals.
