Why do we like this?
I'm about to make a bold statement. This track sounds a lot like a young Johnny Cash and Elvis fused into one person to soundtrack the love montage in an urban, 1950s Western film. It's what Johnny Cash sings and the way Elvis sings it, or maybe it's the other way around, that is drawing comparisons in my mind.

In both cases, and in this case, the star is the vocalist. Taylor Kirk sings with an intimacy that magnifies his persona before his words. However, the lyrics are equally notable. With a voice akin to water, both light and dense with life-giving properties, Kirk sings, "Well you have every reason to be frightened/Since you have been reading my mind/Who am I to deny this moment/And who am I even to question it?" And then, as if to deny his own intense allure, Taylor cries (in that irresistibly, manly way), "Please break this spell you have me under/Every heart is a lonesome hunter."

Timber Timbre is a talented Canadian folk trio that also includes Simon Trottier and Mika Posen. More importantly, their track "Magic Arrow" was featured on Breaking Bad, so obviously they are worthy of your time. Check out more over on Facebook.
