Why do we like this?
TOKiMONSTA's new album Creature Dreams will make your ears fall in love.

Alright, let's just cut to the chase: Creature Dreams is astonishing. Listening to this girl's ethereal beats drop is like watching a painter lavishly adorn a blank  canvas -- it just feels beautiful to listen to.

Chill songs like "Bright Shadow" and "Little Pleasure" make you want to go lay outside in the grass and just fucking smile while heavier songs like "Day Job" add a little complexity to your ear's usually boring musical life. I'm dead serious; this may be one of the best albums to come out so far this year. Okay, so maybe I'm a bit biased because I want to marry the girl... but it's not my fault that she's not only talented but also beautiful!

TOKiMONSTA (yes it's actually spelled like that) is South Bay beat baker and brainfeeder Jennifer Lee who started DJing after an unfocused career as a pianist. She decided to use her background in classical "to understand and create vast soundscapes through the usage of live instruments, percussion, digital manipulation and dusty vinyl."

Thank god for us she just didn't up and stop creating music. Her beats are the mellowness you need in your life this summer. They're great to listen to while you have a cold (alcoholic, preferably) drink in hand. Just imagine listening to the featured song while the sun's rays hit your skin... dreamy ...

She's recently been touring all over the world (or so it seems) and has been steadily gaining a following since the release of last year's awesome Midnight Menu, so get with the program and listen to her other albums and EPs if you don't already know her.

Be sure to follow her on Twitter and soundcloud in order to find out when she'll be on tour next and to listen to playful remixes like her version of Telepopmusik's "Breathe" (2002 throwback!)
