TV Girl Easier to Cry

I'm pretty excited to share the latest EP from Indie Shuffle favorites TV Girl. Lonely Women is the newest offering from the San Diego duo, and picks up exactly where they left off with the EP's lead single, "She Smokes In The Bed."

I was lucky enough to get a sneak preview of the EP a couple of weeks ago, and it has made a delightful addition to my easy listening playlist. Funny enough, behind that hazy pop exterior, there is some real heartbreak in this EP. I remember looking at the title songs "Melanie," "Laura," and "My Girlfriend," and hoped that this wasn't some revengeful boyfriend EP that I had been sent.

For some reason or another, TV Girl seem to be masters of these particular lo-fi love songs that are filled with nostalgia. You'll notice, however, that a lot of the songs on the EP are quite sombre, but remain completely upbeat at the same time. "Easier to Cry" is a great example and probably my favorite, because it runs perfectly with their theme of lonely women.

You wouldn't expect a couple of guys from California to be able to express so eloquently the thoughts of a woman, but I think this is exactly where they excel. Full stream of the EP is available on their SoundCloud page, and I'm sure  you won't be disappointed.
