Why do we like this?

Recently, it seems there's been a renaissance of soul-washed electronic music, with artists like Jack Garratt and James Blake at the forefront. The trend merges electronic production and R&B-inspired vocals with the occasional twist of disco-infused melodies. It's a cool combination of genres that have morphed to produce something completely new and consistently satisfying to the ear.

A few months ago, Two Another appeared on the scene to paint there perspective on the smooth marriage of sound. After a suspenseful and speculatory period of gradual releases, the surreptitious artist has finally released "Shouldn't Have Done That" to complete their self-titled EP.

Though the release is comprised of only three tracks, it's quite well rounded for a small offering. "Higher" is a groovy bass-driven track with staccato percussion and a Jungle feel to it. "Keeping Me Under" brings disco-era funk complete with Glass Animals style vocals. Finally, "Shouldn't Have Done That" appears to bring the mood down, rounding out the EP and giving the listener some extra room to breathe.

The instrumental is reminiscent of Bonobo's silken hip-hop sound, complete with sliding guitar notes, watery synths and breathy, layered vocals. A perfect release for balmy air and ocean views, this after-hours track will be on repeat for the upcoming summer months.
