Why do we like this?

I fall for anyone who pits Bill Evans piano against the pitter patter of chopped hi-hats and classic French film. 

In case you were wondering, the lovely French words are from "Pierrot le fou." The track's by Untitled Memories, a single man spin-off via London/Vienna beat duo Woodcut. This is the London half, crate-digger extraordinaire Daniel.

I found this gem dangling off a new 20-track beat tape to drop sometime later this fall. I adore the atmosphere beats like this can create -- it's like floating and watching yourself in a feature film. A fluid listen reveals tight beats with an extra touch of soul. 

Might I suggest putting this on while cooking a classy dinner? Not a lot of listens on the market yet, but keep your eyes fixed on the SoundCloud for that trickle of tracks to-be-released.
