Varsity’s blend of light vocals over heavy instrumentals is like mixing salty with sweet... something about the combination just works.
“Reason to Run” has gnarly guitar chords that continue throughout the song. Rhythmic pop-rock finds like this are making this genre skyrocket across my playlists. Plus, it has a bit of '80s flare to it. The youthful and untroubled energy reminds me of the way I would feel after watching a John Hughes film.
I can pick up the band’s great chemistry just by how well the instrumentalists blend together. And that’s no shocker, considering the Chicago band has been jamming together for years.
“Reason to Run” is from Varsity’s latest album,Fine Forever.
