Sounds like: Mumford & Sons, Kodaline
Why do we like this?

I have a brand new song from a brand act for you today on Indie Shuffle.

Meet Wells. They are a four-piece band out of Sydney that originally formed to support the solo act of singer Alastair Cairns. Their collaboration has since grown into something bigger than just three mates supporting another mate. Together they have decided to form a band outright, and this is their debut single.

Wells describe themselves on their Facebook page as producing rock and roll. Judging by this debut single I’d say they’re leaning more in the direction of a mellow, almost surf rock style version of that genre.

I like that Wells do rock, but remain grounded in lyrics. This debut single “Fractures” shows they’re capable of big crescendos of sound while keeping it together with the low tempo vibe you’d expect from rock. It reminds me a bit of swelling surf.

There’s more to come from newcomers Wells. Their debut four-track EP is slated for release soon. Get on their Facebook page for all the upcoming details.
