Why do we like this?

I met the wonderful Giselle Mapp of WILDE here in Berlin a few months ago, and was immediately impressed by the groups' fresh and illustrious sound after listening to them on SoundCloud.

Combining singer/songwriter, producers/songwriters Brandon Merenick and Olutobi ‘Nyra’ Akinwumi, the trio from Toronto, Canada have just released their debut EP, Flashlight, taking the listener on a journey through enthralling melodies, sultry vocals, dark samples, warm synths, downtempo percussion, and 808's.

"Temple" is possibly my favorite track from the EP. I'm particularly drawn to the how big the production is, with every element melding effortlessly, from Mapp's haunting, soulful vocal, to the intricate melodies and beats forming a basis for it.
