We've met Wyldest in their early days here on Indie Shuffle, when they were more folk inspired, pulling on the same heartstrings that the likes of Poliça were hitting in recent years. The track they shared this morning however, shows a fresh take on the trio, a more energized, indie-electro facade with a splattering of 80s vibes. I, for one, am loving the slight turn in direction of their sound.
The production is outstanding, bringing out front-woman Zoe's vocals as a bright, sparkling addition to a seemingly familiar and pop infused melody. The Hitchhiker EP is due out late September, but that's perfect, because there's a lot of sunny afternoons to get this on rotation before we get a few more songs on offer.
