Australia has been a steady go-to for excellent music, showing that the land of kangaroos, beaches and bogans (a special breed of human that only Australians understand) has a lot to offer in terms of inspiring music (hey, don't get me wrong - my adoptive country is great).
Case in point are Brisbane-based producers YesYou, whose take on the Australian sound is enhanced by the soulful up-and-coming singers and producers they collaborate with, like Noah Slee, Jordan Rakei, and now Aussie duo La Mar.
Their new track "Through Your Eyes" is a moody, downtempo track, driven by an off-kilter bassline, thumping kick and a signature synth riff that all gels together in a throbbing, indie dance number that you can't help but tap your foot to. The soulful vocal stylings of La Mar's Dylan Wright just add that extra level of on-point-ness, too.
