Yves Tumor...a stand-out gem. Boasting an experimental approach that has no bounds or limits, Yves Tumor is constantly producing contemporary pieces of art that coalesce to push through creative barriers. I have no idea what artists I would compare this style of music to, which is brilliant.
I had the pleasure of seeing Yves Tumor at Capitol Hill Block Party in Seattle this past summer. The performance was ethereal; Tumor's stage presence was theatrical, mental and semi-erotic. This included crawling around the stage in a euphoric, drug-like trance. It was quite extraordinary & refreshing to see.
"Gospel For A New Century" is the leading single off of new album, Heaven To A Tortured Mind, out April 3rd via Warp Records, the label that boasts artists like Danny Brown, Bibio, and Stereolab. This upcoming project should be on your radar, as Yves Tumor's last album, Safe In The Hands Of Love, was critically acclaimed.
