Out of no where last week, this debut single from Jarryd James dropped. Over 130K plays on SoundCloud later and this newcomer out of Brisbane is generating some much-deserved attention.
It's really, really hard not to like this. Vocally it's rich, lyrically it's meaningful, and instrumentally it shines.
Jarryd James asks us, "Do you remember the way it made you feel?" A track like this makes you think as much as it makes you feel something, which is exactly what a lot of the maximalist mainstream fluff out there doesn't do. The music world needs more of the likes of this young man, whose warmth and empathetic energy shines.
