Why do we like this?
As a home to The xx, SBTRKT and Koreless among others, Young Turks is definitely one of our favorite labels.
Their latest project is a set of limited edition releases to celebrate some of their hits from 2013. The first of these, simply titled Young Turks 2013/1, sees a combination between John Talabot and Pional, under the name Lost Scripts.
Their track "I'll Be Watching You," is right at home on Young Turks, sounding like a deep house-touched version of The xx. Even Pional's vocals share an awful lot with those of Oliver Sim. And as for that hook, it's straight out of The xx songbook.
But the song has more than enough of its own identity to overcome the similarities. You can get a copy -- if there's any left -- here.
